About Knot Practical

Hi! My name is Jessica (or Jess for short) and you’ve stumbled upon my wedding blog. I’m just navigating the tides of planning a practical wedding without going too insane.  Sounds simple.  Right? I am 29 years old and living and working in Charleston, West Virginia.  I recently joined a public relations/political consulting firm as a junior account executive after working five years for an education nonprofit.

I met my wonderful fiancé, Steven, in 2010. He works in communications for the WV Senate.  Together, he and I love to travel, talk politics and journalism, trying new things and hang out with our cat, Belle.  Throughout this blog, I’ll share our many adventures together as we try to plan a practical wedding.

The purpose of this blog is to be outlet as I begin figuring out how to plan the best day of my life. No pressure or anything.
